The founder and permanent leader of PCRM was unanimously elected to the newly created post of Honorary Chairman of the party. According to the party’s press service, this decision was a tribute to his longstanding contribution to the development of the party and the state.

During the XI Congress, which gathered 254 delegates from all over the country, a new version of the Program and amendments to the Charter were approved. The delegates discussed the current socio-economic situation and identified key tasks, including strengthening statehood, preserving neutrality and fighting for social justice.

As a result of personnel reshuffles, Constantin Starish and Vladimir Telnov joined the renewed secretariat of the Central Committee. The party stressed that these changes symbolize a consistent renewal of the leadership, while maintaining the continuity of the political course established by the generation of PCRM founders.

The congress ended with the adoption of an appeal to citizens, in which the Communists called for public solidarity to ensure a decent future for Moldova.
