Iwona Piorko is a Polish diplomat. She assumed her duties as the European Union’s ambassador to Moldova in early September 2025. She succeeded Janis Mažeiks in this position.
Prior to her posting in Chisinau, Iwona Piorko served as the EU ambassador to Singapore and held a number of senior positions within the European Union, working in the areas of foreign relations, economic policy, and EU enlargement.
She has repeatedly reaffirmed the European Union’s support for Moldova’s European course and emphasized the importance of dialogue between the authorities and citizens.
