The project aims to expand farmers’ access to reliable water sources by rehabilitating two centralized irrigation systems in the districts of Ștefan Voda, Criuleni, and Anenii Noi. Once implemented, the project will supply water to 6,900 hectares of farmland. The project also provides for capacity-building for farmers, water user associations involved in irrigation, and government agencies responsible for managing irrigation infrastructure.

During the discussions, Liudmila Catlabuga emphasized that expanding access to irrigation and modernizing irrigation infrastructure are priority objectives for MAIA.
