Freelancers’ Income in Moldova Surpassed 41 Million Lei in June

Freelancers’ earnings continue to rise

In June 2026, independent contractors (freelancers) earned more than 41 million lei.

The State Tax Service reports that it has sent 3,181 notices to freelancers regarding the payment of the single tax for June 2026 to their email addresses.

According to the agency’s data, the total income reported by freelancers in June amounted to 41.2 million lei, while the total flat tax amounted to 6.2 million lei. This represents a 14.04% increase compared to the previous month.

At the same time, approximately 51.21% of registered entrepreneurs conducted transactions through special bank accounts. Of these, 61 used cash registers and monitoring equipment connected to the “Electronic Sales Monitoring” information system. The amount of cash receipts totaled 806,015 lei.

As of July 10, 2026, according to data from the State Tax Service’s information system, there were 3,284 registered independent entrepreneurs. Since the beginning of 2026, the amount of the single tax paid by them has totaled 14.2 million lei.

The State Tax Service reminds taxpayers that July 27, 2026, is the deadline for paying the flat tax for June 2026. The tax rate is 15% if a freelancer’s annual income does not exceed 1,200,000 lei, and 35% for the portion of income that exceeds this limit.
