According to the Ministry of Education and Research, the testing took place in 56 educational institutions designated as testing centers at the suggestion of local specialized education authorities in all districts and municipalities of the country. Of the total number of participants, about 1,100 were 9th grade students and about 400 were 12th grade students.

In order to better familiarize themselves with the testing platform, students had the opportunity to practice the demo test on the md.brio.ro platform, where they could learn how to access the tasks, navigate the system and manage their working time.

The digital skills assessment is based on the European Digital Competence Assessment Framework (DigComp 2.2) and covers five main areas: information and digital literacy, communication and collaboration, digital content creation, security and problem solving.
