National Employment Program

As noted in the information message of the Ministry, at the first meeting of the Working Group on May 20, the main structural problems presented in the “Analysis of the labor market”, prepared by the independent analytical center Expert-Grup, were discussed.

These include the shortage of labor force and necessary skills, migration of the active population, informal employment and difficulties faced by young people in finding a job after graduation.

These findings will form the basis for the formulation of specific objectives of the National Employment Program for 2027-2030.

Clear commitments and actions

Minister of Labor and Social Protection Natalia Plugaru stated:

“The new National Program should reflect the real needs of the labor market and include clear commitments of the responsible institutions. It is important to correctly formulate the problems and priorities for intervention in order to be able to identify effective and sustainable solutions. The program is also part of the European Union accession process and should include concrete and cross-sectoral actions.”

The programme will focus on increasing labour market participation, reducing unemployment, modernizing public employment services, developing life skills, activating vulnerable groups, promoting formal employment and strengthening institutional capacity in line with EU standards and policies.

In the following period the members of the Working Group will study the submitted information and formulate proposals that will contribute to the definition of the Program objectives. Subsequently, the program document will be submitted for public discussion.
