Deputy Speaker of Parliament Vlad Batrincha stated that peace is the main achievement of the victory.
“Here, at the Sherpen Bridgehead, tens of thousands of people gave their lives so that Moldova could be liberated from fascism, gain freedom, and find peace,” he noted.
According to him, thanks to this victory, Moldova gained the opportunity to develop.
The day before, a roundtable discussion dedicated to the 82nd anniversary of the liberation was held, with the participation of historians, scholars, and politicians.
On Liberation Day, an exhibition titled “Echoes of Liberation,” dedicated to preserving the memory of the Great Patriotic War, was also opened at the “Eternity” memorial in the capital.
Participants in the events emphasized the importance of preserving historical memory and the value of peace for future generations.
