Today, the second layer of asphalt is being laid on the section of the road that has already been prepared, and starting tomorrow, it will be open to traffic again.
Immediately afterward, work will begin on the opposite side of the street, where both the roadway and the sidewalks will be repaired.
To ensure the work on this section is carried out safely and as quickly as possible, traffic restrictions will be temporarily in place.
According to the city government, the first phase will focus primarily on the roadway: removing the existing pavement, preparing the subgrade, and laying asphalt to resume traffic as soon as possible.
The city authorities emphasize that the work is being carried out in phases, as repairs progress, to minimize inconvenience for drivers and local residents and, as much as possible, maintain traffic flow on Metropolitan Dosoftei Street.
In early August, city hall announced repairs to the road surface and sidewalks on the section between Henri Coandă and Mihai Viteazul Streets. The project also included the creation of parking spaces.
