Mayor Ion Cheban assures residents of the capital municipality of this. “According to data received from the Dubasari Reservoir, water is currently scheduled to be released at a rate of about 65.0 m³/s,” he reports. “We are ready to start up all the pumps recently installed at the water intake station to draw water and deliver it to the plant so that operations do not stop and we can continue to supply residents.”
Cheban clarifies that the newly built dam also helps retain water in the area around the water intake station. He adds that city officials are maintaining constant communication and sharing data with Prime Minister Vasile Tofan.
At the same time, according to novostipmr.com, from August 23 to 25, the water level in the Dniester River upstream of the Dubossary Reservoir will rise by 0.6–1.2 m. This is due to an increase in the discharge rate from the lower reach of the Dniester Hydroelectric Power Plant (Ukraine) to 350 m³/s.
According to the hydrology department of the Transnistrian Hydrometeorological Center, the water will remain within the riverbed. The water level in the Dniester will depend on the discharge rates from the reservoirs.
