This is reported by the news portal Gagauzinfo.MD. The school from Gagauzia was the only educational institution from Moldova awarded this year in the category “Teacher Development”.
According to the publication, in 2026, about 3 thousand applications from 113 countries were submitted for participation in the contest. Being in the top 50 allowed the gymnasium to obtain the status of “World Class School” and become part of the Global Network of Schools, which opens up opportunities for international cooperation, exchange of experience and professional development of teachers.
The next stage of selection is ahead, which will determine the top ten schools. The finalist of the award will be announced at the end of May in London.
In 2025, the gymnasium of Baurchi village celebrated its 35th anniversary. Over the years, the institution has graduated more than 4,700 students, many of whom today successfully continue their education and professional activities in various fields.
The gymnasium has more than 400 students with whom 38 teachers work.
