According to the document, members of parliament will convene for a plenary session at the suggestion of the Parliament’s Standing Bureau following the final approval of the agenda.
In accordance with Parliament’s Legislative Program for the current year, the priority of this session will be the harmonization of national legislation with that of the European Union.
This summer, Moldova opened two negotiation clusters with the EU—“Fundamental Values” and “External Relations.” The remaining four clusters—covering the internal market, inclusivity, the “green” agenda, and agriculture—will be opened as the necessary criteria and conditions are met.
According to the Parliament’s Rules of Procedure, the legislature holds two regular sessions per year. The first begins in February and cannot continue beyond the end of July, while the second begins in September and cannot continue beyond the end of December.
In addition to regular sessions, Parliament may be convened for an extraordinary or special session at the request of the President of the Republic of Moldova, the Speaker of Parliament, or one-third of the deputies.
