During the event “Universities of the Future”, which was organized within the framework of the third edition of “Education Week”, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, rectors of higher education institutions and international partners discussed new directions of development of the national academic environment.
Moldovan universities are connecting to modern standards and teaching practices in order to be more competitive on the education market.
An example of one of these practices was the launch two months ago of the “Chisinau Business School” at the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM). It was created in partnership with the Stockholm School of Economics.
The new division of the Academy will produce managers capable of managing complex economic processes in accordance with international standards.
“Any beginning is difficult, but looking back, we realize that we have taken an important step to train business managers not abroad, but in Moldova,” emphasized Alexandru Stratan, ASEM rector. – The launch of the Chisinau Business School responds to the demand of our economy to train elite specialists able to face the challenges of the modern business environment”.
Dual DegreePrograms and Erasmus+programs
During the event, the trend towards internationalization of education was noted. Universities are expanding double degree programs, the number of courses taught in foreign languages is growing.
Since Moldova’s accession to the Bologna education system, the so-called “academic mobility” is expanding through the implementation of the Erasmus+ program.
The rapid development of AI and related trends in higher education was discussed by Viorel Bostan, Rector of the Technical University of Moldova. In this context, the implementation of a mandatory national anti-plagiarism system for the evaluation of theses and student research papers becomes a priority for the academic environment.
