Armenia’s Central Election Commission has published the preliminary results of the parliamentary elections as of 06.30 am, having processed 55.95% of ballots.
As News.am reports, with a result of 50.86% (414608 votes), the currently ruling Civil Contract party is leading.
In second place is the Strong Armenia bloc of parties with 23.19% (189050).
The third position is held by the “Armenia” bloc of parties, which has 9.6% (78275).
In fourth place is the “Prosperous Armenia” party with 4.1% (33417).
The fifth-ranking Wings of Unity party has 2.3% (18720).
As Armenpress news agency reports, current Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a press conference at night that the Civil Pact party had won the National Assembly elections and would solely form the government.
He made an address in which he reaffirmed Yerevan’s commitment to the course of peace, regional cooperation and normalization of relations with neighboring countries.
Besides, as Armenpress writes, answering Izvestia’s question whether the Armenian authorities will continue the course of rapprochement with the European Union, Pashinyan said that the country will continue the course of rapprochement with the European Union, but will also continue its participation and membership in the Eurasian Economic Union, develop relations with Russia and other EAEU member states.
To remind, the preliminary results of the voting will be summarized by the Central Election Commission on June 8 by 8 p.m. live on Public Television and Public Radio of Armenia.
