Nevertheless, the association is calling on Parliament to adopt this bill under emergency procedures as early as next week, in two readings at once. “Because every day without licensing creates the risk of wheat, corn, and sunflower seeds at dumping prices, as well as the imposition of export restrictions on shipments of our grain and oilseed products to Romania,” reads a statement from “Forța Fermierilor.”
In a comment to Logos Press, “Forța Fermierilor” Director Alexander Slusari noted that the draft law, developed by Sergei Ivanov, originally provided for the application of an import licensing regime for the aforementioned raw materials until the end of 2027. The association believed that, at the start of the current marketing season, it made sense to implement the licensing system until the end of 2026. However, given the current challenging situation, even the scaled-back version of the licensing mechanism approved by the government will be beneficial for market conditions.
