The Romanian president noted that the vessel had departed from the port of Alexandria (Egypt) and was headed for the Ukrainian port of Reni.

According to him, shortly after the incident, two vessels from the Romanian Agency for Safety of Human Life at Sea arrived at the scene and evacuated the entire crew, including three injured crew members. Everyone was safely brought ashore.

In addition, a tugboat dispatched to the area is ensuring that the vessel does not drift and does not pose an additional danger to the safety of navigation, the president added.

“Government agencies are on high alert and will investigate the circumstances, causes, and responsibility for this serious incident, which is most likely part of the Russian Federation’s illegal war of aggression against Ukraine,” European Truth of Ukraine quoted the Romanian president as saying.
