The company submitted the relevant application to the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE). The company attributes its request to rising operating expenses.
Among the main items contributing to the rise in expenses, the operator cites increased costs for labor, electricity, equipment depreciation, and other mandatory payments.
Specifically, the company’s experts project total expenses for 2026 to amount to 965 million lei, compared to ANRE’s estimate of 923 million lei.
“Apă-Canal” also reports that this year it will supply more than 47 million cubic meters of drinking water and treat approximately 44.5 million cubic meters of wastewater. Process water consumption and losses will total 17.25 million cubic meters. This is equivalent to 25.9% of the total volume of water entering the system.
At the same time, the operator is proposing to reduce the tariff for water production and transportation for redistribution from 6.26 lei/cubic meter to 6.01 lei/cubic meter, as well as to lower the tariff for process water.
