Employees of the Customs Service together with prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases have uncovered an organization in Moldova, where more than 100 cars that entered the country under the regime of temporary importation were waiting to be dismantled for spare parts, reports Logos Press.

Finance Minister Andrian Gavrilice, together with the leadership of the Customs Service, presented the new deputy director of the Customs Service of Moldova, Ana Luca, to the institution’s employees, Logos Press reported.

Two cases of illegal transportation of goods were solved by the officers of the Palanca customs post, together with officers of the General Inspectorate of Border Police of the Republic of Moldova, as a result of the effective application of risk analysis within customs control, Logos Press reported.

During 2025, the state budget will receive revenues collected by the Customs Service in the amount of more than 41.15 billion lei, which is by 2,873,566 thousand lei more (+7.5%) compared to the same period of 2024, Logos Press reported.

The Customs Service will receive assistance from the European Union within the EU4Borders Security – Moldova project with a budget of 4 million euros.

The European Union Border Assistance Project (EUBAP) will be launched in Moldova as an extension of the EUBAM mission, Logos Press reports.

In the first ten months of 2025, the total value of goods imported to Moldova amounted to 158.4 billion lei, – Logos Press reports citing the country’s Customs Service.

By 2030, Moldova will be ready for full integration into the EU customs space, Logos Press reports.

The Dispute Resolution Council of the Customs Service will now have six representatives of business associations instead of three, Logos Press reports.

Despite the declared increase in transfers, the Customs Service’s procedure for administering state budget revenues for the period 2023-2024 is riddled with shortcomings, causing the state to lose revenue, Logos Press reported.

In the first eight months of the current year, the Customs Service sent more than 26.1 billion lei to the state budget, which is 1.6 billion lei more (+6.6%) compared to the same period of 2024, Logos Press reported.
