Women’s initiatives implemented in 6 localities in Moldova

Local initiatives aimed at promoting equal participation of women and men in public life and strengthening social cohesion were implemented in six localities in Moldova.

For example, a sports alley was developed in the village of Colibash, Cahul district. Its residents can now use sports facilities free of charge. A new sports ground in the Central Park was also built in Nisporeni town.

The House of Culture in Gangura village, Ialoveni district, was modernized and equipped with furniture and sound equipment.

In the village of Sireti, Straseni district, a well-maintained, safe and accessible market was organized for local residents, where they can sell their products.

In Tudora village, Stefan Voda district, the premises for a team of volunteer firefighters, including women, were reconstructed.

And in Tomai village (ATU Gagauzia), five modern bus stops were installed.

These local initiatives were realized within the framework of the project “Women for Peace and Prosperity”, implemented by UN Women in Moldova with financial support from Switzerland.
