Undergraduate Admissions 2026: Math Is an Underdog

Preliminary results from this year’s bachelor’s degree program show, overall, an increase in academic performance. The overall pass rate has risen for the third consecutive year. However, the weakest results were recorded in mathematics for the science track, where the average score was only 5.36.

The 2026 session was marked by a record number of perfect scores—85 graduates earned straight A’s on all their exams. These top students come from the municipalities of Chisinau, Balti, Cahul, Soroca, Ungheni, Orhei, as well as from Drochia, Hincesti, Singerei, and Streseni.

Despite the overall positive trend, there is a huge disparity between subjects. Mathematics showed the weakest results: 69% of students passed the exam, and the average score was only 5.36 (though this is slightly better than last year’s figures). History, in the same science track, was the complete opposite: 99.6% of candidates passed it successfully, with an average score of 7.20.

The overall pass rate rose from 69.38% in 2024 to 72.36% in 2025 and reached 75.40% in 2026.

Bachelor's Degree Program 2026

The pass rates also improved for students at colleges and centers of excellence—their pass rate was 57.82%, compared to 54.39% last year.

Nationwide, 13,904 students passed the bachelor’s degree exams before appeals were considered. A total of 18,437 candidates were admitted to the exams during this session.

The average score among those who successfully passed the exams also rose: from 7.17 in 2024 to 7.38 in 2026.

“We have a higher pass rate than in previous years, and more excellent grades, including perfect scores. These results prove that investments in the quality of education, the efforts of teachers, and the hard work of the students themselves are paying off. At the same time, we clearly see where we still need to work to give every child an equal chance at a good education,” noted Minister of Education and Research Dan Perchun.

Another important point raised at the press conference was that not a single student was disqualified from the exams for cheating during this session.

Appeals may be filed on June 25 and 26 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the same BAC centers where the graduates took their exams. The exams will be graded from June 27 through July 2, and the final results of the main session will be posted on July 3, 2026.

The supplementary session of the national bachelor’s degree exam will take place from July 13 through July 20, 2026.
