According to available information, the conversation between the leaders of Azerbaijan and the United States took place in a friendly and warm atmosphere.
As previously reported on the official website of the President of Azerbaijan, during the conversation, Ilham Aliyev and Donald Trump discussed the results of the year since the Washington summit, the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the implementation of the TRIPP project, as well as the development of the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and the United States.
(The TRIPP project (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity — “Trump’s Route for International Peace and Prosperity”) is a transport corridor project between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan through Armenian territory, established through U.S. mediation and with exclusive U.S. rights for 99 years. It became a key element of the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, signed in August 2025 in Washington with the participation of President Donald Trump).
It was specifically noted that over the past year, peace and stability have been maintained in the region, and there have been no incidents capable of undermining the peace process.
The parties also spoke positively about the export of Azerbaijani petroleum products to Armenia, the transit of goods through Azerbaijani territory, and the establishment of trade ties between the two countries.
