
Vasile Tofan and Nicușor Dan
Starting at 11:00 a.m., Romanian President Nicușor Dan will receive Vasile Tofan at the Cotroceni Palace. At 12:00 p.m., Acting Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan will meet with Tofan at Victoria Palace for talks.
Following the bilateral meetings, plenary sessions of both delegations will take place. At 1:15 p.m., Vasile Tofan and Ilie Bolojan will hold a joint press conference.
According to a statement from the Romanian government, discussions will focus on the status and acceleration of bilateral projects, particularly in the fields of transportation and energy, with the aim of improving connectivity between Romania and the Republic of Moldova and resolving current issues.
Another important topic will be the security situation in the region, given Russia’s war against Ukraine and its implications for security and the economy, according to an official statement.
Ilie Bolojan will reaffirm Romania’s support for Moldova’s accession to the European Union and discuss specific measures to support this process, the government of the neighboring country emphasized.
The Moldovan government, in turn, announced that this meeting marks Vasile Tofan’s first official visit. The discussions will cover strategic projects, economic cooperation, and security developments in the region.
The Moldovan prime minister will also meet with the leadership of the Romanian parliament and take part in a discussion with representatives of the Bessarabian Business Club on investments and support for the business environment.
