EIB financing will be directed toward supporting investments in horticulture, viticulture, the grain sector, livestock farming (including aquaculture), production and post-harvest infrastructure, and the digitalization of Moldova’s agri-food sector. Approximately 90% of the project’s loan funds will be directed toward micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises. The remaining funds from the EIB loan will be used to support public investments in agricultural research infrastructure, education, food safety, and services focused on the agri-food sector.

The “Livada Moldovei II” project is also expected to mobilize more than 300 million euros in private investment in the agri-food sector.

The previous phase of the “Livada Moldovei” project provided financial support to approximately 620 investment projects in Moldova. The funds were used to achieve the same objectives that have been identified as priorities for the new phase of the project.
