In this regard, pursuant to the provisions of Article 501 of Law No. 291/2016, as well as the provisions of Decision No. 1 of the Board of Directors of the National Agency for Communications Regulation (ANRCETI) dated January 21, 2021, on blocking websites that provide access to gambling not authorized by the established procedure, providers of publicly available electronic communications services are required to ensure the immediate blocking of access by users from the Republic of Moldova to the specified sources.
The list spans 261 pages and contains approximately 800 different gambling platforms.
It is unclear why the authorities only began blocking gambling sites five years after ANRCETI’s decision.
