The project calls for the reconstruction and expansion of two centralized irrigation systems, which, once modernized, will serve approximately 6,900 hectares of farmland. Funds will also be allocated to strengthen the capacity of relevant government agencies and non-governmental water users’ associations for irrigation purposes.

The Cabinet of Ministers also approved a delegation led by Vasile Şarban, State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, to negotiate with the aforementioned creditors.

The project will be financed through loans and grants provided by these creditors under the “Reform and Growth Facility for Moldova.”
