According to the Cabinet of Ministers, the Romanian market accounts for over 30% of Moldova’s exports, making Romania a key foreign trade partner for the republic. Imports of Romanian goods rose by 20.5% to $10.92 billion.

The meeting addressed issues related to expanding trade and economic cooperation, implementing joint projects in the fields of infrastructure and energy integration, and attracting investment. According to Vasile Tofan, the next stage of cooperation should focus on strengthening economic ties.

“Romania remains Moldova’s closest strategic partner. We want to take our relations to a new level, where economic cooperation, investment, and joint projects will be just as strong as our political partnership,” the prime minister stated.

During the talks, the parties also discussed cooperation in the energy sector, including possibilities for supplying Moldova with diesel fuel in light of the situation on the regional market.

Following the meeting, the Prime Minister of Moldova announced that his first official foreign visit would be to Bucharest.
