Deputy Marina Morozova stated that, according to media reports, there are health risks as well as possible violations of regulations regarding public health, occupational safety, and the rules governing the stay and employment of foreign citizens.
“We will invite representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the General Inspectorate for Migration, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the General Police Inspectorate, and other relevant agencies to determine the conditions under which these workers were housed, the actual state of their living conditions and compliance with health standards, as well as to discuss the current regulatory framework in the field of migration,” — said Marina Morozova.
According to the lawmaker, the parliamentary hearings will take place on Tuesday, July 7.
The General Inspectorate for Migration reported that, following inspections conducted on Wednesday, July 1, 101 administrative reports were filed against foreign citizens for failing to report a change in their place of residence or stay. In addition, two foreign nationals were found to be in the country illegally, prompting the initiation of procedures to place them in a temporary detention center.
The IGM also reported that it would forward the case files to the State Tax Service and the National Public Health Agency for review of the circumstances identified during the inspection within the scope of their respective jurisdictions. The employer’s actions were documented, and the collected materials will be forwarded to the authorized agencies, which will decide on the application of measures and sanctions provided for by law.
The General Inspectorate for Migration reiterated that compliance with legislation governing the employment and residence of foreign nationals is a fundamental obligation of employers, which is essential for protecting the rights of migrant workers, ensuring fair competition, and maintaining a transparent economic environment.
