At the end of April, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the provision of financial aid intended to compensate agricultural producers affected by the rise in fuel prices as a result of the military conflict in the Middle East. So far, these funds have not reached the agrarians, but the application procedure has already been launched.

It has a little less than 40 million lei left in it

According to the Finance Ministry’s report on the allocation of the reserve fund, just under 40 million lei is left in it. Besides the assistance to the beneficiaries of the fuel excise tax reimbursement program, in February, the government allocated 382,500 lei to cover the expenses incurred by the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations. They were meant for the transportation of humanitarian aid to Ukraine. At this moment, the sum of 329.2 thousand lei has been financed

A total of 110.382 million lei was allocated to the Interior Ministry and the Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry.

This year, the government’s reserve fund is planned to amount to 150 million lei, while the intervention fund – 230 million lei.

It should be reminded that every year, the Moldovan budget allocates funds for two emergency governmental funds – reserve and intervention funds. Their purpose is to enable the cabinet to promptly respond to the financing needs in exceptional and unforeseen circumstances.

The reserve fund is intended to finance expenditures of unforeseen and extraordinary nature. The intervention fund is intended to finance expenditures related to the elimination of the consequences of natural disasters, epidemics and other emergencies.
