Preparation for government procurement is taking place in a training format. Experts from BRM EST Moldova held an informational session for public agencies in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, explaining the rules for using commodity exchanges in government procurement, the operation of digital platforms, and trading mechanisms in accordance with the latest legislative amendments.
According to the explanations provided, commodity exchanges will ensure transparency and fair price competition in public procurement within a secure online environment, using European contract award mechanisms that are compatible with Moldovan legislation. This significantly speeds up the process and eliminates red tape.
For its part, the Ministry of Finance “is committed to ensuring that contracting authorities have a clear understanding of this tool and to supporting the implementation of modern solutions” in government agencies.
Elena Grumeza, State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, emphasized the importance of continuously modernizing the public procurement system and implementing modern tools in line with European practices: “We need to determine a practical way to apply this mechanism, which is already permitted under the legal framework but still requires proper regulation through secondary legislation.”
