The monetary base is shrinking

Moldova's monetary base in March decreased by 287.5 million lei (- 0.4%) compared to the previous month, amounting to 79.2 billion lei, Logos Press reported.

The monetary base is shrinking

According to the National Bank, the monetary base in circulation increased by 185.7 million lei (+0.4%), compared to February 2025, to 44.3 billion lei.

As for money in circulation and demand deposits (in residents’ lei), this part increased by 147.6 million lei (+0.2%), compared to February 2025, amounting to 96 billion lei.

In turn, term deposits in resident lei and money market instruments decreased by 260 million lei (-0.2%), to 128.2 billion lei.
