According to the company’s financial statements, CFM’s total revenue for the period from January through June 2026 amounted to 405.5 million lei, compared to 306.2 million lei for the same period in 2025.
At the same time, total expenses decreased to 387.5 million lei, compared to 458.2 million lei in the first half of last year. As a result, the company reported a profit of approximately 18 million lei.
The financial data also shows a clear trend toward recovery. While CFM ended the 2024 fiscal year with a loss of 322.6 million lei, the loss narrowed to 89 million lei in 2025. In the first half of 2026, the company returned to profitability.
In addition to improved financial performance, the labor situation within the company has also normalized. Currently, CFM employees’ salaries are being paid on time, and all wage arrears have been cleared.
“The results show that efficiency-enhancing measures, financial discipline, and responsible management are beginning to yield concrete results. The fact that the company has returned to profitability, that salaries are being paid in full, and that past wage arrears have been cleared confirms that CFM is entering a new phase of stabilization and development. Our goal remains to create a modern, efficient, and sustainable railway capable of providing competitive services and restoring its strategic role in the economic development of the Republic of Moldova,” said Vladimir Bolea, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, on this matter.
The ministry will continue to implement reforms and invest in railway infrastructure so that the Moldovan Railway becomes a modern, competitive enterprise ready to meet the demands of the economy and comply with European standards, the minister added.
