The artwork, titled “Your Happiness is in Your Own Hands” was officially unveiled on 25 June 2026, in the presence of officials from the Republic of Moldova and Austria, as well as representatives of the diplomatic, business and cultural communities. The project is supported by Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein, the main shareholder of Vienna Insurance Group.
The artistic installation on the Ringturm is dedicated to the Republic of Moldova and will remain on display until the end of September. The artwork presents a visual choreography of hand movements associated with the preparation of sarmale, a traditional Moldovan dish and a symbol of belonging, tradition and cultural identity.
Through this approach, the artist transforms an everyday gesture into a visual language with broader meanings. Beyond the culinary reference, the artwork speaks about memory, family, community and the way traditions are preserved, passed on and reinterpreted from one generation to another.
Pavel Brăila is one of the most renowned contemporary artists from the Republic of Moldova. Born in Chișinău, he works in fields such as film, photography, installation and performance art. His works have been presented at major international exhibitions and events, and his artistic practice frequently explores themes such as memory, identity, migration and social transformation.
The selection of Pavel Brăila for the Ringturm project represents recognition of the creative potential of the Republic of Moldova and an opportunity to present European audiences with an artistic perspective on contemporary Moldovan culture.

Moldova on the European Stage Through Culture and Partnerships
The unveiling event brought together high-ranking guests, including Eugeniu Osmochescu, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Digitalisation; Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer, Austria’s Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism; Victoria Roșa, Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Austria; Anca Dragu, Governor of the National Bank of Moldova; as well as representatives of Vienna Insurance Group and its companies in the Republic of Moldova.

In 2026, the platform is dedicated to the Republic of Moldova, and the selection of Pavel Brăila confirms the interest in promoting Moldovan creative potential on the European stage.
