Elon Musk and Donald Trump
The Wall Street Journal reports this, citing sources.
It is noted that the results of the midterm congressional elections are of great importance both to U.S. President Donald Trump and to Musk himself.
“Trump and Musk have revived a relationship that seemed beyond repair… Musk has made it clear that he plans to spend at least $100 million on a voter turnout campaign to help the Republican Party retain control of Congress,” the newspaper writes.
According to WSJ sources, Trump and Musk now speak on the phone about once a month, although the president does not expect their relationship to become as close as it once was.
It is noted that Vice President J.D. Vance and White House Chief of Staff Suzy Wiles played a key role in restoring the relationship. Musk’s decision to abandon plans to form his own party also helped. At the same time, it is claimed that the entrepreneur intends to keep a lower public profile than he did during the 2024 presidential campaign.
As a reminder, Trump and Musk publicly fell out in June 2025 over a tax and budget bill that the billionaire called a “disgusting abomination.”
