According to the evidence gathered, a company representative gave money to the state secretary in exchange for her exerting influence on officials at the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA). The aim of this influence was to reinstate the permit to import poultry and animal feed from Ukraine. Previously, ANSA had suspended the import procedure due to violations uncovered during inspections.

Currently, NAC officers and anti-corruption prosecutors are conducting searches in the office of the State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, as well as at a number of other locations, to gather and secure evidence.

Investigative activities are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the case, identify all individuals involved, and document all criminal activity.

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office will provide additional details as the investigation progresses.
