“Daily gas supplies from Romania to Moldova have increased by a third over the past seven days, reaching 3 million m³ from the previous 2–2.1 million m³, due to the abnormal heat. Moldova is actively using gas to generate the electricity needed to power air conditioners that cool residential and office spaces,” the publication writes.
Economedia emphasizes that Moldova relies entirely on Romanian gas supplies, having terminated a long-term agreement with Gazprom two years ago. Moreover, the country’s transportation infrastructure is managed by a Romanian company, and Moldova’s gas reserves for the winter are also stored on Romanian territory.
