Valeriu Chiveri thanked UNDP for its support of the country’s reintegration process

On August 10, Valeriu Chiveri, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, met with Daniela Gasparikova, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Moldova. The two sides discussed international aid projects being implemented by UNDP to support communities on both banks of the Dniester.

During the meeting, the focus was on confidence-building, sustainable development, and enhancing energy security, as well as other areas of cooperation, according to a statement from the Bureau for Reintegration.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the need for aid projects and development initiatives to help address the specific challenges faced by residents of the Transnistrian region of Moldova.

In particular, they discussed the operation of schools where instruction is conducted in Romanian, as well as respect for fundamental human rights and freedoms in the region.

Valeriu Chiveri thanked UNDP for its contribution to the implementation of foreign aid projects and noted the importance of its support for the effective advancement of sectoral policies aimed at the country’s reintegration.
