Gas rates could rise by 41%

At its meeting on August 21, the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) plans to consider a draft decision to raise the natural gas rate for residential consumers to 20.30 lei per cubic meter.

This is 5.88 lei, or approximately 41%, higher than the current rate of 14.42 lei per cubic meter.

Two days before this meeting, the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) will hold another discussion on this decision, to which experts, community leaders, and the general public are invited.

If the proposal is approved as is, the price of a cubic meter of gas for residential customers will increase by nearly one and a half times.
