Representatives of the European Union and other international partners are participating in the event. The meeting marks the first year of the program’s implementation and brings together Eastern Partnership countries and development partners, according to a statement from the Ministry of the Environment.
“In the context of the European Union’s official launch of the first round of negotiations with the Republic of Moldova, we highly value the results-oriented support that is crucial for strengthening the capacity needed for the integration process,” said Victoria Gratii, State Secretary of the ministry.
She also emphasized the need to continue leveraging the potential of the EU4Green Recovery East program in the coming years and to accelerate ongoing activities to achieve more tangible and practical results.
With the project’s support, the Ministry of the Environment is making progress in harmonizing legislation with EU directives, preparing implementation documents, and strengthening institutional capacity. At the same time, solutions are being developed to address staffing needs in this area, and priorities for value chains within the circular economy are being identified.
During the meeting, the delegation from the Republic of Moldova held talks with the European Commission, the OECD, the UNECE, and the Austrian Environment Agency to coordinate planned activities.
Cooperation projects with the French water agency “Artois-Picardie” are also being discussed, including possible pilot projects in the field of water resource management.
