A U.S. Congressional delegation discussed support for Moldova in Chisinau

Defense Minister Anatolie Nosaty and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi met in Chișinău with a bipartisan delegation from the Appropriations Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives.

U.S. Congressional Delegation

The delegation was led by Republican Congressman Tom Cole and Democratic Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro. It also included Republicans Steve Womack, Mark Alford, and Dave Joyce, as well as Democrat Glenn Ivy.

The main topics of the meeting were bilateral cooperation, including in the field of defense, as well as the prospects for further partnership between the Republic of Moldova and the United States.

The parties also discussed Moldova’s European course, the regional security situation, current challenges, and foreign assistance aimed at strengthening the country’s defense capabilities.

The meeting took place against the backdrop of ongoing cooperation between Moldova and the United States in the areas of security, institutional reforms, and strengthening state capacity.
