“Summer is coming to an end, and I’m really curious to know where books have taken you over these past few months,” the head of state wrote on social media.
She invited children to share what they’ve been reading, which character they liked best, and which story made them laugh, dream, or discover something new.
Children can send their responses to [email protected]. In their email, they should include their name, age, city or town, the number of books they’ve read this summer, and what impressed them the most.
Maya Sandu launched this initiative on June 1, International Children’s Day. At that time, she urged schoolchildren to put away their phones and tablets for at least 30 minutes a day and devote that time to reading.
At the end of summer break, the most active readers will be invited to the Presidential Office in early September. There, they will have the opportunity to meet with Maia Sandu and talk about the books and stories that accompanied them this summer.
