Code of Honor of Ossetians” presented in Chisinau

A cultural and educational event "Ossetian Heritage and Traditions" organized by the Ossetian Community of the Republic of Moldova in partnership with the Agency for Interethnic Relations took place in Chisinau. As part of the event, the "Code of Honor and Traditions of the Ossetian people" was presented.

The presentation was led by Svetlana Dzhioeva, Chairperson of the Ossetian Community in Moldova. She provided participants with a perspective on the ethical and philosophical foundations that shape the identity of the Ossetian people, emphasizing hospitality, respect for traditions and norms of social behavior passed down from generation to generation.

Director of the Agency for Interethnic Relations Vyacheslav Ryabchinsky praised the activities of the Ossetian community and its head. He expressed the agency’s readiness to develop new joint projects in the sphere of intercultural dialog.

Also, the head of the agency emphasized the importance of preserving ethnic identity and promoting cultural heritage in the context of Moldova’s European course.

“The country is home to about 180 nationalities, each of which contributes to the common cultural wealth of the state,” Ryabchinski said.

The cultural program included a screening of the biographical film “Boris Galaev – Architect of Ossetian Music”, dedicated to the founder of the State Song and Dance Ensemble “Simd”, as well as a video presentation “Heart of Caucasus – Vladikavkaz”, telling about the architectural heritage and cultural spirit of the capital of North Ossetia. The event ended with an art program and tasting of traditional dishes, including the famous Ossetian pies, which are a symbol of hospitality and cultural identity of the Ossetian people.
