The training was organized as part of a bilateral cooperation program between the Republic of Moldova and the Federal Republic of Germany (represented by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), the Lower Saxony State Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety (LAVES), and Consulting Group GmbH).
Fifteen ANSA inspectors participated in the training, which was conducted in two phases—theoretical and practical. During the theoretical sessions, participants gained an in-depth understanding of: the principles of the HACCP standard and the related legal framework; the responsibilities of inspectors when conducting official controls; the updated recommendations of the Codex Alimentarius and the ISO 22000 standard; the most common shortcomings in the implementation of the HACCP system; and practical examples from the meat processing industry.
The practical portion of the audit took place at food industry facilities, where ANSA inspectors, together with three German experts, conducted audits of the implementation of the HACCP system.
Food industry operators demonstrated openness and a willingness to participate in the practical activities, providing the German experts with the necessary documentation to evaluate the implemented systems, according to an ANSA statement on the occasion.
