The new information system will connect farmers with researchers, agricultural consultants and corporate organizations in the area, giving them access to information on modern agri-technology and agribusiness financing opportunities, the MAIA Ministry of Agri-Food noted in a press release.
Through AKIS, farmers will also benefit from online training courses, virtual presentations, feedback from experts, etc.
“The Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System aims to develop digital tools for agricultural advisory services, knowledge transfer and skills training for farmers. The platform will bring together farmers, advisory services and research centers to accelerate technology transfer and adopt sustainable agribusiness practices. For our country, this system plays an important role in adapting to climate change and strengthening food security,” said Inna Butuchel, MAIA Deputy Secretary General in this regard.
The implementation of AKIS is part of Moldova’s commitment to modernize agriculture and to integrate into European innovation networks such as Horizon Europe and EIP-AGRI. Its implementation will contribute to increasing the competitiveness of the country’s agri-food sector and achieving compliance with international standards.
