The discharge from the Dniester Reservoir will be reduced

During the first two weeks of September, the release of water from the Dniester Reservoir downstream will be reduced from the current 75 to 60 cubic meters per second.

This decision was made today following a meeting of the Moldovan-Ukrainian Commission on the Dniester. As noted by Moldovan participants, the meeting was lengthy and tense. The decision to reduce the already extremely low water release was due to the unprecedentedly low inflow of water into the reservoir from the Carpathians.

Overall, the parties assess the situation as difficult and unpredictable, even in the medium term.
