Ilie Bolojan and Vasile Tofan
Tofan explained the decision to appoint USR party deputy Claudiu Năsui as Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization. He said that during his visit to Bucharest late last month, he asked Ilie Bolojan about Năsui’s candidacy, noting that Nesui had also served as a minister in Romania, according to gandul.ro.
“The response I received satisfied me and allowed me to make this decision,” Vasile Tofan admitted, recalling his conversation with Ilie Bolojan about Claudiu Năsui.
The Moldovan prime minister stated on a program aired on Moldova 1 that his vision and Claudiu Năsui’s vision align, including on the issues of reducing budget expenditures and taxes.
“The problems we face are largely related to a fairly balanced public sector, where we need to cut spending. And Mr. Năsui believes in this. He believes in a smaller government, lower budget expenditures, lower taxes, more efficient operations, and fewer state-owned companies. We concluded that, since we have these problems, we need to put someone in charge who believes in these things. He served as Romania’s Minister of Economy and was a member of the Romanian Parliament. I think he will also help us strengthen our relations with Romania. I think this is a very good decision,” Vasile Tofan said on the program “Pe faţă” on Moldova 1.
