Gasoline prices will rise by 6 bani and surpass the 31 lei mark (31.01). Diesel prices will rise by 2 bani, to 33.32 lei.

However, there are no signs that prices will fall. Moreover, it is highly likely that prices will begin to rise rapidly again tomorrow.

The fact is that yesterday the U.S. announced the launch of an unprecedented economic campaign against Iran, aimed at maximizing the regime’s isolation and cutting off its financial ties with the rest of the world. The new strategy has been dubbed “Economic Pariah.”

This was announced by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

“Our goal is to sever all economic channels that sustain this tyrannical regime until Tehran finds itself isolated,” Bessent said.

The Treasury Secretary emphasized that the U.S. is shifting to a significantly tougher approach. According to him, President Donald Trump’s administration no longer intends to limit itself to attempts to contain the threat emanating from Iran.

“We are eliminating it,” the secretary said.

Global financial markets are likely to respond to these actions in one clear way: with further increases in the prices of oil and oil products.
