The hands-on component of the program gave young professionals the opportunity to see how energy infrastructure works and to learn about the technologies used to manage distribution networks in the central and southern regions of the country.
The Transition to Digital Grid Management
At the company’s central office, the interns were introduced to the group’s main areas of activity, the structure of the enterprises involved in electricity distribution and supply, and the investment projects currently underway.
A separate part of the visit was devoted to the development of the dispatch infrastructure. Participants were shown the telephone office and the old dispatch center, where pieces of equipment used several decades ago are still preserved.
The interns then visited the new dispatch center. There, they were able to learn how the distribution network is monitored and managed in real time.
This allowed the program participants to see the role that digital infrastructure plays in ensuring the reliable operation of the electric power system.
These study visits are part of a practical internship program organized by the EU and the Moldovan government. Their goal is to help young professionals connect the knowledge gained during their internships with real-world processes, technologies, and challenges in the energy sector.
For the energy sector, which is undergoing modernization and digital transformation, training professionals familiar with modern infrastructure management technologies is becoming one of the key factors in the industry’s long-term development.
