
The new regulations establish quality standards for each product category: physicochemical parameters, maximum limits for contaminants and impurities, permitted auxiliary ingredients, and organoleptic characteristics.
At the same time, special labeling requirements are established for products containing caseins and caseinates. In cases provided for by the regulatory framework, relevant information regarding proteins may be included in accompanying documents.
The implementation of the new requirements “will help prevent the release of non-compliant products onto the market, as well as protect the health and interests of consumers,” according to a statement from the Ministry of Agriculture.
Casein is the primary milk protein, rich in essential amino acids and possessing high nutritional value.
