The U.S. president wrote about this on his social media platform, Truth Social.
Trump noted that Graham was “one of the most outstanding people and senators I have ever known.”
“He always worked hard and was a true American patriot. We will miss Lindsey very much. Details and information about the funeral will be announced later,” the U.S. president added.
However, Trump told CNN that he did not share Graham’s views on the Ukrainian conflict.
“We had some minor disagreements. I wanted the conflict in Ukraine to end as soon as possible. I think he (Graham) was more in favor of it continuing. To be honest, he was quite belligerent on this issue,” said the White House occupant.
Trump also noted that he had spoken with Graham the day before his death, when the senator had returned from Ukraine.
“He said he was tired because it had been a long trip, but otherwise he was fine,” he said.
