Norwegian politician Arild Herstad, leader of the Green Party and member of the Norwegian Parliament (Storting), has officially nominated Moldovan President Maia Sandu for the Nobel Peace Prize, Logos Press reports.

Moldova and Poland are working to update and deepen the bilateral agreement on defense cooperation to reflect the current security situation and strengthen ties between the two countries’ structures, Logos Press reported.

President Maia Sandu presented the priorities for 2026, emphasizing that foreign policy and security will be key areas, with a focus on European Union integration, Logos Press reported.

The total annual income of President Maia Sandu amounted to more than half a million lei last year, although the head of state received a salary of only 269.3 thousand lei at her main place of work, Logos Press reports.

Moldovan President Maia Sandu will hold consultations with parliamentary factions on October 23 and 24 to appoint a new prime minister. The ruling PAS party has nominated Alexandru Munteanu as its candidate for the post of prime minister. At the same time, part of the opposition has already announced that they will not support his candidacy, Logos-Press reported.
