The Agency for Interventions and Payments in Agriculture AIPA authorized the payment of subsidies totaling LE 597.14 million to farmers from the National Fund for Support to Agriculture and Rural Areas in January 2026, Logos Press reported.

More than 520 million lei of post-investment subsidies have been approved for payment to Moldovan farmers by the Agency for Interventions and Payments in Agriculture AIPA, Logos Press reported.

The Court of Auditors has found serious flaws in the subsidy mechanism of the National Fund for Agriculture and Rural Development (AIPA), which systematically leads to commitments without financial support, although the planning of the size of the Fund is within budgetary limits, Logos Press reported.

Last week saw the end of the third round of farmer applications for subsidies this year – this time post-investment. This week, AIPA, the Agency for Interventions and Payments in Agriculture, has already presented a blitz analysis of the framework parameters accepted for consideration of “farmer dossiers” for subsidies. The first thing that catches the eye is the total amount requested – almost LE 1.5 billion. This is about 50% more than the staff of non-governmental organizations of agricultural producers predicted.

The third round of applications from farmers for post-investment subsidies this year closed on December 11. More applications were received than expected by experts from agricultural non-governmental organizations, Logos Press reports.

All financial obligations to farmers on subsidies will be fulfilled and the current mechanism will be modernized and harmonized with European practice.

About MDL 470 million was authorized by the Agency for Interventions and Payments in Agriculture AIPA to be paid to agricultural producers between November 17-21, Logos Press reported.

Almost a third of the total amount of agrarian subsidies in 2024 was requested by agricultural producers from just six Moldovan districts, Logos Press reported.

Moldova with the support of the World Bank, the French Development Agency and the EBRD is implementing a program to rehabilitate centralized irrigation systems, which will provide irrigation to almost 21 thousand hectares.

The Agency for Interventions and Payments in Agriculture AIPA has started authorizing payments to farmers affected by late spring frosts. A total of 690 applications have been received by AIPA, of which 91, amounting to 19.1 million lei, have already been approved, Logos Press reported.

AIPA approved for payment to farmers 70.84 million lei in subsidies in October, compared to 118.85 million lei in September. The Agriculture Ministry and the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA) informed about this, noting that these amounts are intended for farmers for different types of subsidies.

Between Oct. 13 and Dec. 11, growers can apply to AIPA’s Agricultural Intervention and Payment Agency for post-investment subsidies, Logos Press reported.
